Student Intern - Legal:

The mission of the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) is to protect and promote the wages, welfare, working conditions, and safety of Illinois workers by enforcing State labor and employment laws, providing compliance assistance to employers, and increasing public awareness of workplace protections. As a Legal Intern, you’ll have an opportunity to apply your legal education to positively impact workers and employers across the state. You’ll work directly with IDOL’s General Counsel and full legal team to research legal issues, draft documents, analyze legislation, and assist with case preparation. Student Intern - Data:

Environmental Protection Agency

Life Science Career Trainee:

The EPA internship offers those interested in a career in the environmental remediation field an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the cleanup of sites throughout the State of Illinois. Interns will learn how to review plans and reports to assess for technical adequacy and regulatory compliance, travel to project locations to observe tank and soil removal, observe the installation of monitoring wells and learn soil and groundwater sample collection techniques. The internship offers the opportunity to attend a variety of technical and regulatory training programs and conferences. Successful interns will develop the knowledge and skills needed to establish a foundation for a career in environmental remediation while actively working to reduce or eliminate threats to human health and the environment from UST releases across the State. Job posting link coming soon. 

Illinois Guardianship & Advocacy Commission

Student Intern - Legal:

This internship provides a hands-on learning experience, equipping interns with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to contribute effectively to LAS while gaining valuable exposure to the legal aspects of mental health advocacy. The IGAC internship provides students with a hybrid work experience, combining in-office training with remote work opportunities. The initial training period, lasting approximately 2-3 weeks, will take place in person. The first week of the internship is dedicated to comprehensive training. Interns will begin with an introduction to the Illinois Guardianship & Advocacy Commission, its divisions, and its overall mission, followed by Legal Advocacy Service training. Following the initial training, interns will work closely with their assigned attorneys, applying their knowledge to active cases. While working remotely, interns will check in with their assigned attorneys at the beginning of the day to receive assignments and again at the end of the day to report progress.
